Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know we might be a good fit?
A good therapeutic fit often allows you to feel safe, understood, and comfortable. Often, the right therapist is someone who actively listens, collaborates on your specific goals, and adapts their approach so you can do the work needed to make meaningful progress.

What can I expect during the first session?
Our first session is a space for us to get to know each other. We will talk about how therapy works, clarify what brings you in, and explore how I can best support you. There is no pressure to share everything right away, and we will move entirely at your pace as we begin building a safe, comfortable connection together.

Do I have to talk about my childhood?
Not unless you want to. While our past experiences shape who we are, our work together will always focus on what feels most important to you right now. We will only explore your history if and when you feel safe, comfortable, and ready to do so.

Do you accept insurance?
Yes. I accept Optum, United Healthcare, and Oxford. I am considered an out-of-network provider with all other insurance plans, and you will receive a monthly billing statement that can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement. Working privately allows me to provide the personalized, high-level attention this work requires, without the limitations insurance places on time and approach.

How often do clients typically meet with you?
Clients typically meet weekly. Those who are preparing to terminate therapy may meet biweekly or even once a month.

Why do you meet virtually?
I choose to meet virtually because it allows you to engage in therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own space. Meeting online simply eliminates time-consuming New York City transportation logistics and the need to sit in a busy public waiting room. It is a seamless way to prioritize your mental health, allowing you to show up exactly as you are without any extra concerns.

Do you only work with women?
Not exclusively. I also work with men who come through a referral for a specific concern and are seeking support through my practice.
