About Sonia

Sonia Brill, LCSW, is an New York University trained therapist from New York City. She draws from an eastern lens and its clinical application in mindfulness, holisitc health, meditation, and breath-work. She started her counseling career over 20 years ago at the Bellevue Hospital E.R. and homeless shelters. Since then, she has worked in other clinical sectors including the inpatient psychiatric services of  St. Vincent’s Medical Center as a social worker, outpatient services at Jacobi Medical Center as a primary therapist, and Westchester Medical Center NICU; these experiences allowed her to successfully resolve complex psychological concerns.

Sonia saw the growing need for a mind-body perspective to traditional psychodynamic therapy.  Her training with visionary teachers including Deepak Chopra further fleshed out the nature of human connection and fresh approaches to creating healthy relationships with oneself and others.

Her purpose is to educate and counsel clients to reconnect to their resilient nature. She believes when we have clearer understanding of who we are and how we want to be with others, we are able to reduce anxiety, lonliness, and depression.

She works with women and young adults looking to create a relationship with themselves and/or repair and restore relationships with their partner, child, or family member.

She has been a guest instructor at New York University and served on the Board of the Women’s Initiative at NYU, guest educator and contributing writer for Deepak Chopra. She has been published in various media, including Women’s Health.

Sonia Brill can be contacted for consultations and psychotherapy. She is licensed to practice in New York and New Jersey.
