Primordial Sound Meditation
For thousands of years, people have used meditation to move beyond the mind’s busy activity and emotional turbulence into profound peace and expanded awareness. In the age of social media and busy schedules, restful awareness we experience during meditation is more valuable than ever. The term restful awareness captures the unique combination of physical relaxation and an alert yet quiet mind. The most direct way to experience inner silence and well-being is mediation, a tool to rediscover the body’s own inner intelligence.
Increasing scientific data indicates that meditation offers numerous health benefits—stress-reduction to emotional health. When you mediate breathing slows down, blood pressure decreases, and stress hormone levels fall.
Meditation allows you to move from activity of the mind and overthinking to the stillness within. As a Chopra Certified Meditation Instructor, I teach Primordial Sound Meditation, this meditation practice comes from the Vedic tradition of India. Primordial Sound Meditation practice can allow you to easily to journey into quieter and quieter levels of thought until you slip beyond the mind’s activity.
During the meditation course: you’ll learn why thoughts come up in meditation and exactly what to do with them. You’ll not need to force or concentrate during meditation. You’ll learn to easily and naturally enjoy the benefits from this one simple practice. You are invited to tap into your inner intelligence—journey into quieter and quieter levels of thought until you slip beyond the mind’s activity.
Primordial Sound Meditation Course
During Primordial Sound Meditation Course, you’ll receive education and training.
The course is divided into four components.
Session 1- Introduction to Primordial Sound Meditation
In your first session of Primordial Sound Meditation Class (PSM), you will be introduced to PSM. You will learn about this healing practice, a tool that allows us to experience inner calm and deep relaxation. Chopra Center co-founders Drs. Deepak Chopra and David Simon have revived a time-tested, ancient practice.
Session 2-Personal Instruction
Each student receives personalized instruction and a customized mantra. The mantra is individually calculated specifically for each student based on time and place of birth. The mantra is a sound that has no particular meaning. Word mantra has two parts: “man”, meaning mind; and “tra,” meaning vehicle. Therefore, it’s a vehicle of sound that takes us into deeper and deeper levels of relaxation and inner peace.
Session 3-Perfecting the Practice
In this class students learn practical aspects of meditation to develop an enjoyable lifelong practice. The class is concluded with a guided meditation.
Session 4- Higher States of Consciousness
In the final session, students learn that meditation accelerates the process of personal evolution. With each meditation there is a release of stress, turbulent emotions, and conditioned ideas that create a barrier of experiencing our true, radiant nature. Higher states of consciousness become available as these layers shed, who we are and what we are capable of becoming is awakened.
